Cyber
Security Awareness Session 2018 is a training session that aims to
advocate cyber security and cybercrime related matters occurring in
Tanzania. This session in particular will highlight fundamental
cybercrime problems across the country and provide cybercrime awareness
to the public. In order to address cybercrime related matters, the
United Republic of Tanzania introduced THE CYBERCRIME ACT No. 14, 2015
in 2015. However, statistics show that the number of cybercrimes
committed in the country increases annually since the inception of this
law.
The
drastic changes in ICT industry have affected human civilization
significantly. African countries, (Tanzania included) are also facing
social and economic changes prompted by new innovations in ICT industry.
Nevertheless, criminals are exploiting new ICT services in committing
crimes, thereby, causing significant problems to the public.
Considering the impact of cybercrime (social and monetary loss) to the general public, Kingdom Heritage brings this session aiming at convening stakeholder in cyber security and cybercrime related matters. Notable participants and speakers in this session will be from TCRA, Tanzania Police Force, Game Media and Cyber & IT Security Company.
