area, keenly follows proceedings during a short handover ceremony of 200 desks
worth TShs 22 million donated by SBC Tanzania Limited (PEPSI) to the school.
The Ceremony was attended by Ilala District Commissioner, Ms. Sophia Mjema, who
received the desks and handed them over to the school authority.

Kamapuni ya SBC Tanzania Limited, watengenezaji wa vinywaji baridi ya PEPSI, imekabidhi madawati 200 yenye thamani ya Shilingi milioni 22, kwa mkuu wa Wilaya ya Ilala, Bi. Sophia Mjema, ikiwa ni mwendelezo wa jitihada za kampuni hiyo kuitikia wito wa serikali kuchangia madawati kwa ajili ya kumaliza kabisa matatizo ya madawati mashuleni.
Akizungumza wakati wa hafla fupi ya makabidhiano iliyofanyika katika shule ya msingi Gogo iliyoko eneo la Chanika, Wilaya ya Ilala, Mkuu wa wilaya hiyo Bi. Sophia Mjema mbali na kuwashukuru SBC Tanzania Limited kwa msaada huo, alitoa maagizo kwa watendaji wake kuhakikisha kuwa misaada ya madawati wanazoendelea kupokea kutoka kwa wadau mbalimbali zinaelekezwa katika mashule mapya na yale ya zamani yenye mahitaji.
“Nawapongeza SBC Tanzania Limited kwa kuendelea kutuchangia madawati haya. Hili jambo ni jema kwa sababu kampuni hii imeona ni muhimu watoto wetu ambao wako Wilaya ya Ilala wapate madawati, wawezekuwa na elimu bora, waweze kufaulu vizuri ili kesho na keshokutwa wawaajiri wao. Watakapo pata elimu bora, watakapokuwa wataalam wazuri, ni hawa hawa watakao waajiri.
“Vijana wetu wakipata ajira katika makampuni kama ya SBC Tanzania, itatusaidia kuepukana na tabia ya vijana wetu kujiingiza katika uhalifu na matumizi ya madawa ya kulevya. Vijana wetu wakipata elimu bora,watakuwa ni nguvu kazi yenye tija kwa ukuwaji wa uchumi wa taifa letu,” alisema Mjema.
Kwa upande wake, Afisa Mtendaji Mkuu wa kampuni ya SBC Tanzania Limited (PEPSI), Bw. Avinash Jha alisema kuwa kampuni hiyo inatambua changamoto mbalimbali zinazoikumba sekta ya elimu nchini na ndio maana elimu imepewa umuhimu mkubwa katika sera yao ya kuisaidia jamii (yaani Corporate Social Responsibility).
“Mwezi uliopita (Agosti) kampuni yetu kupitia tawi latu la Shinyanga, tulichangia Shilingi milioni 20 kwa ajili ya kusaidia kutengeneza madawati kwa ajili ya shule za mkoa wa Shinyanga. Mwaka jaana tulichangia madawati 100 kwa Shule za Msingi za Muhimbili na Umoja wa Mataifa huko upanga.
“Ningependa kukuhakikishia, Mheshimiwa Mkuu wa Wilaya, kwamba hata baada ya mchango wetu wa leo, tutaendelea kusaidiana na serikali kadri tunavyoweza kuhakikisha sekta hii muhimu ya elimu inaboreshwa zaidi,” alisema Bw. Jha.
Mkurugenzi huyo aliongeza kwamba kampuni yake inatambua kuwa ili taifa liweze kupiga hatua za kimaendeleo, ni lazima uwekezaji ufanyike katika kuboresha sera na miundombinu ya elimu ili kuzalisha rasilimali watu ya kutosheleza mahitaji ya taifa.
Aliendelea kusema kwamba kampuni ya SBC (PEPSI) ikiwa kama mdau wa maendeleo inatambua kuwa juhudi za wananchi katika kujikwamua katika umaskini hazitafanikiwa kama taifa litashindwa kutoa elimu iliyo bora kwa wananchi wake.
“Kupitia sera yetu ya msaada kwa jamii, kampuni ya SBC (PEPSI) imekuwa ikitoa misaada mbalimbali katika sekta ya elimu. Kampuni yetu pia imekuwa ikitoa nafasi za mafunzo ya kazi “field and internship” kwa wanafunzi zaidi ya 10 kila mwaka ili kuwajenga uzoefu wa kazi,” alisema Bw. Jha.
Aidha, Mkurugenzi huyo alieleza kwamba ni imani yao kuwa mchango waliyotoa itasaidia kwa kiasi kikubwa kupunguza tatizo la upungufu wa madawati katika shule zitakazopata madawati hayo.
“Na kama nilivyo tangulia kusema hapo awali, huu ni mwanzo tu. Tutaendelea kushirikiana na serikali katika kusaidia sekta ya elimu, ikiwa ni pamoja na kuona kuwa kila mtoto anakaa kwemye dawati. Si hapa tu katika wilaya yako ya Ilala, Mheshimiwa Mjema, bali Tanzania nzima.
“Tunafahamu kuwa wanafunzi wanaposoma katika mazingira mazuri hupelekea kuhudhuria vipindi, kuipenda shule, kuelewa vizuri na hatimaye kupelekea kufaulu masomo yao.
“Wananfunzi wanapowekewa mazingira mazuri ya kusomea pia hutoa hamasa kwa walimu kufanya kazi yao kwa ufanisi mkubwa kwani ufundishaji unakuwa ni rahisi na vivyo hivyo uelewa kwa wanafunzi.
“Hivyo basi, ningependa kutoa wito kwa wanafunzi wayatunze madawati haya ili yaje kuwanufaisha na wenzao watakaokuja siku za usoni na tunawaahidi kuwa tuko pamoja nao katika kutatua changamoto zinazowakabili,”alisema Bw. Jha.
Nae Mwalimu Mkuu wa shule ya Msingi Gogo, Bw. Simon Mdendemi alieleza kuwa shule hiyo mpya iliyotokana na Shule ya msingi Kimwani, imejengwa kwa gharama ya zaidi ya shilingi milioni 204 hadi sasa, ina vyumba vya madarasa 12 na inatarajia kupokea wanafunzi 1500, wakiwemo wavulana 700 na wasichana 800.
“Mbali na msaada huu wa madawati kutoka katika kampuni ya SBC Tanzania Limited (PEPSI), bado tunazo mahitaji ya kujengewa ofisi ya walimu pamoja na meza 25 na viti 25 vya walimu,” alisema Mwalimu Mdendemi.
Mara baada ya kupoke risala kutoka kwa mwalimu mkuu inayoonyesha mahitaji zaidi ya shule hiyo mpya, Mkuu wa Wilaya alimwomba Mkurugenzi Mkuu wa SBC Tanzania kusaidia kuleta meza na viti vya welimu, ombi alilolikubali na kuahidi kutekeleza mara moja.
Aidha, Mkuu huyo wa Wilaya alimwagiza afisa elimu kuhakikisha kuwa shule hiyo inakabidhiwa madawati ya ziada kutoka katika ofisi ya mkuu wa wilaya, kwa ajili ya madarasa manne yaliyosalia baada ya madawati ya SBC kutosheleza mahitaji ya vyumba vya madarasa vinane (8).
