Miss Rwanda Jolly Mutesi has taken the gospel of embracing community work, locally know as Umuganda, to the Netherlands.
While interacting with students from the International School of The Hague, the Netherlands, over the weekend, Mutesi urged the students to embrace community work to spur development in their communities.
“Community work brings together people from diverse backgrounds, working towards a common goal. The youth have the power and potential to promote unity through community work. Start involving your neighbours and take responsibility,” Mutesi told the over 50 students last weekend.

The 19-year-old also tipped students on discipline, desire and determination to achieve success. Mutesi told The New Times that her aim was to educate the youth on their role in building communities besides, attaining good grades.
“Other than working for their graduation marks, they should give back to society through community work as it unites people from diverse backgrounds to work towards a common goal thus creating a sense of responsibility and ownership among the youth,” she said.
