Msechu, Director of the Department of Europe and Americas in the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation welcomes
guests during the luncheon to bid farewell to the Ambassador of Italy in
the United Republic of Tanzania held at Hyatt Regency (Kilimanjaro)
yesterday in Dar es Salaam.

Maalim (MP), Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International
Co-operation gives his remarks during the luncheon to bid farewell to
H.E. Peirluigi Velardi, the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Italy
to Tanzania.
Deputy Foreign
Affairs Minister Mahadhi Juma Maalim (MP) continues with his speech in
which he highlighted key areas of cooperation between Tanzania and Italy
since 1970 in sectors of health, education, private sector development,
trade and investment as well as counter piracy initiatives.
Hon. Maalim presents a memorable gift of the Mount Kilimanjaro painting to Ambassador Velardi.
Ambassador Velardi
thanking Hon. Maalim for the wonderful gift. Italy has previously
carried out theoretical and practical military training in collaboration
with Tanzania's Ministry of Defense and the Tanzania's Naval Forces in
efforts to combat piracy activities in Indian Ocean.

Pierluigi Velardi, the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to
the United Republic of Tanzania thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
for its unending support and vowed to continue cooperation as needed.
Ambassador Pierluigi Velardi has been proactive in attracting Italian
investors to Tanzania which resulted in the visits of 22 companies from
Italy in 2012.

Co-operation in a brief discussion with the outgoing Ambassador of Italy
Pierluigi Velardi, yesterday at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dar es
Salaam. Ambassador Velardi has been an Ambassador of the Republic of
Italy to Tanzania since November 2010.
